arrhythmia

my heart is beating steady

it’s been months

no years

since its rhythm

made any sense

my quivering heart

was malfunctioning

electrical shocks so small

so disruptive

I could not name the source

it just meant

it was out of normal rhythm

but when

has the heart

and all it’s held

ever been

normal?

too fast too slow

irregular

I could not keep up the pace

but it took

my heart to tell me so

now finally

I can hear it

I can feel it

I can dance a little dance

and

heal it
